Mental Health Services

Children’s Center offers trauma-informed therapeutic services to provide further support to our children and families. Our clinical program is tailored to the unique needs and situations of children and adolescents who have suffered abuse and received forensic services at the center. Additionally, therapists work to support the recovery of family members and to improve their ability to assist the child.

Children’s Center offers trauma focused therapies such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), Integrative Treatment of Complex Trauma (ITCT) and Play Therapy. Trauma-informed therapy helps children and adolescents and their caregivers process trauma, develop healthy coping skills, enhance future safety skills, and learn to support each other.

Provided a relaxed, playful atmosphere, children are free to express their emotions and move through the healing process at their own pace. It is vital for a non-offending caregiver to participate in mental health treatment. Together, they with the child and clinician will find a healthy progress to heal from their traumatic event and develop healthy skills for their future.

All therapy sessions are offered at no cost to a child’s family.
